Uldis Mākulis, the initiator of this calendar, invited Māris Bišofs to create a series of illustrations reflecting on the tradition of the Latvian Song and Dance Festival and its meaning today.
All illustrations are monochrome and minimalistic; we chose papers of various materiality that varies through the seasons. The calendar is made of 12 separate pages to be hung on a nail.
