While they were moving to the new building in 2014, National Library of Latvia (NLL) decided to rebrand itself.
The library’s activities are very diverse – it holds 4 million issues of printed works, offers services to various target audiences, organises a digital library, implements international projects etc. Our challenge was to create an image that would simultaneously be in harmony with the library’s core values.
In the new designs, we introduced marbled paper from library books. Marbling is a decoration technique that has a significant role in the book binding history; each design is presented with the bibliographic description of the library source document.
