Writer Inga Gaile about the book: “The author talks about love in an exciting and truthful manner, its origins and growth, coming and moving away. About sexuality and self-realization through its acceptance. She doesn’t condemn or show how one should live. She openly talks about aches that adults face while trying to love one another without being able to give up the usual, more comfortable ways to get relish on the behalf of another person. The author’s voice flows like a river, like a passion, unsettling yet refreshing.’’
The feeling created by “A Wide Open Square in Bordeaux” is sensual and intimate.
The novel shares a discovery of the body and sexuality, being both covert and open.
We created a double cover, using Munken Lynx paper, unusually thin for book covers (2 x 200g), to continue the idea of vulnerability and fragility that honesty brings along.
For the covers, we used photographs by artist Vika Eksta.
